This is a past post that I put on a message board that I was following prior to our 2012 Disney Cruise I took with my mom and sister.

Hi all,

A little background, this was my first cruise ever. It was all adults in my group, me (32), mom (61) and sister (23) all from California. They had cruised before, but after this cruise said they would never do another cruise line ever after the awesome time we had!

We got to Orlando the day before the cruise and stayed at the Embassy Suites. Highly recommend this, free airport shuttle, managers evening reception (free wine/alcohol) and complimentary breakfast!

CRUISE DAY ONE
Once back at the airport the next day we checked in and waited for the Magical Express to take us to the port. Super easy and well organized.

We boarded the ship by 11am and had lunch in Cabanas. Sister was SO excited about the crab legs and for me the mac n cheese was yummy, yummy. We explored after lunch and went to the sail away party, very cute and fun. Then we hung by the adult pool for a bit and decided to change for dinner since we wanted to catch Golden Mickey’s before we ate. Didn’t love Golden Mickey’s, I was a little disappointed. It was good not great. We had dinner reservations that night in Palo’s, but had a little time to grab a drink in Meridian, and caught a pretty neat lightning show going on out over the ocean. During this time, my sister got her hair braided by the Mickey pool and it came out super cute, she got done just in time to join us for dinner.

Palo’s was AMAZING! Our server, Marko from Serbia was so attentive and funny and the chocolate soufflé was so delicious! I totally recommend to spend the extra moola for this experience. After dinner, we headed to Evolution and got there just in time to watch Match Your Mate. HILARIOUS! Then we boogied on the dance floor for a bit then dragged ourselves to bed.

CRUISE DAY TWO
My sister and I were up early to work out in the gym. We were on the elliptical as we pulled into port at Nassau. So cool. We were very excited because we had signed up for Dolphin Encounters dolphin swim! Best experience ever!! Dolphins are such beautiful animals and we had a blast! If you want to do this, I would recommend this excursion for sure.

Dolphin time!

We had lunch at Flo’s V8 cafe, yummy burger and beer. Healthy eating :0) Then off to the room to relax. My sister and I wanted to take the abs class at 5, so we went to the gym and did. Sneezing and laughing was a little painful the next few days, but I was glad I did it. We skipped Villains that night, and slowly got ready for Pirate Night! We had dinner in Animator’s Palate, which was pretty good and Crush was cute. I thought they would have the same pirate menu at all the restaurants, but we had the normal menu, so maybe I read that wrong somewhere. Then off to the pirate party on the pool deck and the FIREWORKS. I just have to say, fireworks at sea are incredible. I felt like we were so close to them! After they were over, we headed to Cabanas to the buffet. We grabbed a turkey leg and some fruit and hung out for a bit then off to sleep.

CRUISE DAY THREE
I was up early to participate in the Castaway Cay 5k! We met in the pub and debarked all together. Goofy greeted us in his cute warm up suit and then we walked about a mile to the start of the run. It was HOT. Being from CA, we don’t have humidity here, so I knew I needed to take it easy and stop at every water stop, which I definitely did! I finished in about 35 minutes and then I headed to Serenity Beach to meet my mom and sister.

Somehow, I got talked into doing yoga on the beach, which wouldn’t have been so bad, if I hadn’t just run a 5k! Yoga in sand is hard. But I was glad we did it, the teacher was great and listening to the waves while holding poses was pretty cool.
Right after yoga we headed to the BBQ and chowed on burgers, hot dogs, couscous, potato salad and greek salad. I was just a little hungry. Then we literally sat in the water for about 3 1/2 hours. So amazing. Oh, and you have to try a Konk Cooler while there. YUM!

My travel partners!

Back on the ship we changed and went to watch Believe. SO GOOD! I even teared up a bit, it definitely tugs at the heart strings. It made up for Golden Mickeys.

After, we headed to Remy’s for our 7:30pm reservation. I would just say, if you come here, you have to come hungry. So much food! Excellent service and yummy food. My sister and mom got the tasting menus and I went a la carte…I wanted the lamb, and it didn’t disappoint. After about 3 hours of eating, my mom was beat, so we dropped her off at the cabin and my sister and I went to Pink for a glass of champagne. So cute in there! Then off to Evolution to boogie.

Remy’s was amazing! And they give the ladies roses after dinner.

CRUISE DAY 4 – Disembark
We decided not to put our bags outside of our room and just carry them out, which was so easy. We stopped in Royal Palace, had some breakfast then we really just walked right off the boat. So simple.

We headed to the parks after the cruise and enjoyed Epcot Food & Wine Festival and rode some classic rides at Magic Kingdom.

All in all, we had a fantastic time. Being adults, we really had so much to do to keep us busy and we think kids are cute, so seeing them running around in their cute princess outfits is just fun! The service was outstanding, the food was yummy, the Castaway Cay 5k was super fun and the memories will last forever.
