Good morning 2:30am!  The alarm went off and my husband and I got up and got ready to catch the bus.

In my previous post, I mentioned the weather was COLD by Florida standards.  Both my husband and I didn’t quite pack the proper cold weather running outfits like we should have.  Luckily, the race shirts went with my outfit, so I was able to stay on theme (which, really, is the most important).  🙂

We got to the staging area at around 3:45am, which got us there a little less than 2 hours prior to start time.  We huddled together to try and stay warm.  It wasn’t so bad until the wind started to pick up and the wind was of the chilly variety.

Around 4:45 we began the pilgrimage to the corrals.  Seriously, it feels like miles to get to the start.

After the National Anthem was sung, they started letting the corrals go one by one, each with their own fireworks extravaganza!  We were in corral H, so we got to see the fireworks a few times before we were off.

I was so happy once we started running, I just wanted to get warm. We took an easy pace to start and passed by some photo ops with Captain Jack Sparrow and headed toward the Magic Kingdom parking lot.

We made it into the Magic Kingdom and ran down Main Street and BAM hello castle!

What a castle!

What a castle!

Then it was through Tomorrowland, Fantasyland and then, always my favorite part of any Disney race, running through the castle!  YAY!

After that we were back out into the “World” running on lots of streets surrounded by trees.

I believe around mile 8 we passed through the “Shake it Off” section where they just played the Taylor Swift song on repeat while running through a short stretch, it was kind of fun!

We stopped for Mary Poppins and the Bert and the Penguins.

Then we hit Epcot at around mile 12, for a quick in and out.

The gospel choir was right outside and just a little ways was the finish line!  Rob and I hi-foured Mickey and crossed.  One race done!

Once we got our medals, took our picture and got some food, we headed back to the bus to take us to the hotel.

We kept a really easy pace and walked a bit, so my legs were feeling pretty darn good.  Off to Epcot we went!  We had dinner at Via Napoli and then headed back to the hotel for an early sleep.
